How It All Began

Call me old-fashioned, but I was raised that you always sent cards or letters for birthdays and giving thanks. If I didn’t get a card for my mom, it was an issue. When I went off to college, my grandmother sent me cards for all occasions. It was such a treat to head up to the “Coop” at college, check your mailbox and there was a card from grandma- with more than likely some cash or a $2.00 bill. Now fast forward to adult/family life and things are just so crazy. To think we are living in digitalized age and have help to make our lives a little easy. It would just be unfathomable how tough our schedules would be without it! And yes, with that in mind, it’s difficult for me to get to the store in time to purchase and mail birthday cards for friends and family. And just so you know, I am a super organized, multi-tasking type of gal!
I tried a few things out to help me stay organized with cards. I have bought cards in advance for almost an entire year, but then I missed getting them to the post office in time. At one point, I even found a card service, that I could schedule the cards to be sent out in advance and would schedule all my cards for the year. And remember, I’m old-fashioned. I am also probably the only one in my generation that likes taking out the fancy china to entertain, so of course an e-card would just not work for me.
But all along there was still one issue- I need a gift! I searched all over the web, and found it was difficult to find a card and gift service that would not over exceed my gift budget. Then with sending gift cards, they either came digital or in very un-personalized envelopes. I thought to myself, why isn’t there a site that I can purchase a gift card and a greeting card together and schedule it to be sent? Each year, I would search again, and nothing. So finally, here we are- If you can’t find what you are looking for, then you better just do it yourself!
